Update 21st October 2022
Jamie met with James' family last night and asked that we share this update
"I had a lovely and naturally emotional evening last night with Claire Short and their eldest son Edward.
James' funeral is the 18th of November at 2 pm but it's only going to be for family.
There will be a “celebration” for James for anyone who wishes to attend at Sandhurst in February where all are welcome to attend.
The family thought it would be nice if PCC were to form a peloton procession to potentially lead the funeral procession from James' house in Portishead to St Peters church and they maybe also wish us to form a guard of honour for him to pass through, especially fitting as he will be dressed in his PCC club kit.
They were really appreciative of all the things PCC were doing for James ❤️"
Very Sad News
On Sunday 16th October James had what we think was a heart attack whilst out on the club ride.
Despite heroic efforts from our colleagues in the club and the Emergency Services, including the Air Ambulance, who were on site very quickly James could not be saved.
Our thoughts are with James’ family and his many friends. He was a shining light in his career, the community and in PCC.
He will be very sadly missed.
We have set up a tribute page on our website if you would like to leave a message.
If you have any photographs with James out and about then could you email them to firstname.lastname@example.org
