💛 Charity Challenge – Progress & Analysis

Please donate if you’re taking part 🙏

£1,040 raised • 41% of £2,500 target • 67 supporters

👉 Full challenge details & live leaderboard:https://www.portisheadcycling.com/charity-challenge

The sections below are highlights and analysis from the latest update, not the full leaderboard.

⛰ 100 × Everest – Where We Are

Target: 884,800 m

Climbed so far: ~185,000 m

Completed: ~21%

Still in a solid place overall. Week 2 progress is coming from steady accumulation rather than one-off monster days.

🔥 Front of the Leaderboard

  • Phil S – 14,722 m

  • Simon G – 14,525 m

The gap at the top is under 200 m. One decent ride from either Phil or Simon flips the lead instantly.

Behind them, Matt C, S Arkwright, and Peter W are all holding strong totals and waiting for the next opportunity to apply pressure.

📈 Where the Movement Is

Week 2 is being driven by riders chipping away consistently:

  • Nino T continuing to build momentum

  • Tracey P quietly strengthening an already huge total

  • Rachel P, Ann T, and Dodger T all making meaningful jumps

  • Mark P, Simon A, and Chris R tightening the Ventoux pack

Right now, 500–1,000 m is enough to jump multiple places.

🚴‍♀️ Ladies – Strong and Competitive

The women’s leaderboard remains one of the liveliest parts of the challenge:

  • Tracey P setting the pace

  • Sasha S and Jo C leading the chase

  • Chrissy A, Rachel P, and Celia D all within striking distance

One hilly ride could reshuffle this section quickly.

☕ Sunday Socials – Quietly Effective

The Sunday Socials are doing exactly what they always do:

  • Tracey P, Lee T, and Celia D leading the way

  • David D, Ann T, and Diana K stacking metres steadily

  • Gurdy V, Gareth N, Kevin B, and Paul P all sitting close enough for one good Sunday to change everything

Never flashy. Always dangerous.

🧠 What to Watch Next

  • Riders still sitting on Week 1-only totals are now exposed

  • A single solid ride can create daylight from the pack

  • Early Week 3 positioning will matter more than people think

💛 Final reminder

If you’re riding in the challenge, please make sure you’ve donated. The climbing from people like Phil, Simon, Tracey, Nino, Matt, Peter, and many others has been superb — the fundraising matters just as much ❤️
