GREAT RIDES LAST WEEK and MORE FOR THIS COMING WEEK TOO. Another top week gone, including 3 various mid-week evening rides, the return of the “Usual Suspects” Thurs morning gathering, a “Fastpacking” overnight outing, Saturday and Sunday club runs, and PCC ladies Sasha S and Claire A competing very well in the Chitterne Road Race. For this weekend and the week ahead we are pleased to say it’s more of the same: Saturday 30/04 – Roosters Wedmore and Wells Ride. A tidy 70 mile L2 outing and taking in some great countryside. Heading out to Wedmore for coffee at the Pumpkin Café, and returning via Wells and the Old Bristol Road up over the Mendips. Leaving from Café Marina at 08.30 am with Simon S.A Link to more details, downloadable route and ride sign on: Sunday 01/05 – Sunday Social Ride Sunday Social Ride. Our usual Sunday get-together with riders going out in small groups of similar ability, and if no pre-planned route then agreeing routes/distance/speed with each other on the day. Leaving at 09.30 am from Café Marina, Kestrel Court. Link to more details and ride sign-on: Monday 02/05 – Bank Holiday May Gravel Ride. Join us for a great 40 mile Gravel Ride out to Severn Beach and under the Severn bridge. Ideal as a taster for gravel riding and introducing riders to some less travelled lanes and paths. Leaving at 08.30 am from the Red Statue at the end of the Marina with Neil S. Link to more details, ride sign-on and downloadable route: Weds 04/05 – Hump-Day Ride. Number 2 in the return of our weekly Weds’ eve rides. Riding a different route each week with a local “hump” thrown in, then ending at either the Windmill, Kicker or Priory hostelry’s. Lights needed please. Leaving at 18.30hrs from Café Marina, Kestrel Court with Dave C. Link to more details, ride sign-on and downloadable route: Thurs 05/05 – Club Chaingang. Our weekly and well attended training session. All levels are welcome to ride 1, 2 or 3 laps in close peloton/through-and-off style around a safe and level route over Yatton Moor. Ideal to improve on your group riding skills and fitness, and with instruction given for all newer chain-gang riders. Groups to be mixed by ability, so the more that attend, then the more variety and groups can be arranged. Meeting at 18.00 hrs at Café Marina to ride to the start point at the Police horse centre next to Hand Stadium, or at 18.55hrs directly at the start point if more convenient. Lights needed please. Link to more details and ride sign-on: Please keep a look out on club social media for any additional or ad-hoc rides taking place this week, and also in case of changes to the current rides program. Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.
